There’s a genesis to everything, right? Well, you’re in for quite a wild ride if you’re on our about page. This is the story of how we, Spencer and I, came to be “us” and how this website formed. It all began with a hot summer day in June…

Wait. That’s not how it started tf.

It was the chaos of a February in junior year at Archbishop Molloy High School - people were taking ACTs and learning their ABCs - there were so many things that had to be done and in every student, there was this black ball of anxiety because the same year - 2017 - we had to start applying for colleges and deciding our careers for the future. Yet, in the midst of all this fire, there sparked a connection between an unlikely pair of students.

One was an aspiring musician, the other a writer. It’s obvious that if you’re a writer, you’re good with analysis of classic books and plays such as Ethan Frome and Hamlet, but this relationship started with a tragedy: Mac-

I can’t say it.

Theatre people, I know - it’s the fuck of the theatre world, but I’m going to assume you know what it is based on the first three letters.

Anyways, Spencer and I had the same English teacher - Ms. Sottas - and she was one helluva teacher. This woman graduated magna cum laude at the university she went to and she was planning on becoming a mathematics teacher, but realized that numbers weren’t for her - even though she had an A in calculus II - so she became an English teacher. Moving on, we were assigned the same essay: an analysis on Macbeth’s relationship with Lady Macbeth.

I’m an avid writer, so writing another essay on Shakespeare’s specific use of vocabulary to emphasize different types of relationship they had wasn’t difficult. On the other hand, Spencer couldn’t write for shit - lowkey, he still can’t - so he turned to our Discord group for help. At the time, the Discord group was as active as the subway trains at Times Square, but now, it’s as dead as a cemetary. I happened to be active on the same channel as everyone and offered my help, but since everyone was on, it was difficult for him and I to communicate, so Spencer suggested to move to a private channel and move, we did. You can bet that there wasn’t much essay writing that happened because I made the connection that he was in my math class in freshman year, but then he disappeared after that; only to reappear in junior year in MY friend group - you bet a girl was confused.

We did get his thesis together (thank God) and he did end up getting a higher grade than me, but you know what? It’s totally okay because I wouldn’t trade that 92 for a 94 if it meant that I couldn’t have him. Moving on, we ended up flirting with each other and reminder: this was about a week or two before HELL WEEK, so my life was already in a chaotic fire. I decided to wait on starting a new relationship because I wanted my feelings to be genuine towards him and I didn’t want to mess up what we had...so I waited.

A week.

Just so you know, a week is a very long time for me.

Also, I know no one asked, but I kissed him first.

Spencer: But I asked you out first.

Sub: “Asked” you’ve been crushing on me since freshman year and didn’t say jack.

Spencer: Damn.

Now two years later, we’ve built a website to collect our past and future adventures!

Welcome!
